The cars were leaner, crisper, and more attractive. With a big focus toward a luxury. Mercury was moving up market and management deemed performance out of character for their new vison, so the S-55 trim was removed early in the 66 model year. This makes this car particularly rare! Our 2 door hardtop Monterey presents as a mostly original survivor. With no obvious signs of restoration or modification. The White paint has minor flaws, but is very presentable with no rust or major chipping. The roof is wrapped in black vinyl and the car rides on white factory hubcaps with white walled radials.
